To create a new file in Dreamweaver, select HTML under the ‘Create New’ option.

On the bottom of the main page is a ‘quick tour’ of Dreamweaver.

One can create a Dreamweaver site using the Dreamweaver Site…wizard under the “Create New” option.

The common tab carries several basic GUI (graphical user interface) shortcuts. Note the ones below. The GUI shortcuts are icons whose picture indicates what the tool can do: the letter is used for creating an email, the calendar allows one to insert a date.

The text tab is used for formatting and inserting special symbols.

The code view is used for coding, not for GUI icons.

The split screen is used for coding and for shortcut GUI icons.

The Dreamweaver properties box is used for formatting.
